Germinating seeds, grains and nuts begins a unique process of nature that releases the nutrition contained within them and increases protein, vitamins, nutrients and makes the nuts and seeds significantly more digestible.
Germination is easily accomplished by soaking (immersing) them in water for 8-24 hours.
All of our Sprout~Ables are mixed with 100% USDA certified organic grains and nuts
Click here for the benefits of germination.
Note:It is completely normal when soaking the blends in water to find air bubbles and the color of the water turning brownish. This is a normal part of the germination process.
Once fully soaked/germinated/sprouted up to 8-24 hours drain the soak water away and rinse the blend with clean pure water. Do not drink or use the soak water for anything. You need to discard it because it contains the indigestible enzymes of the nuts and seeds. Rinse LifeGrains Sprout~ables with clean pure water and eat heartily. Enjoy! Eat the mix within 48 hours.
Sprout~Ables -- benefits of germinating.
All seeds/grains receive the following benefits:
- Availability of nutrients: Nutrients are inactive in seeds. Once sprouted, seeds produce higher quality proteins and vitamins B and liC are created.
Removal of Enzyme Inhibitors: Seeds and nuts contain enzyme inhibitors keeping them inactive and protected until they're ready to grow. The sprouting process removes these inhibitors completely.
Digestibility: The enzymes that protect the nut/seed also make it indigestible. Once sprouted the seeds/nuts become highly digestible, significantly more nutritious, and much gentler on your body.
In addition to benefits mentioned above there are the added benefits of the following for grains.
- Remove/Reduce Phytic Acid: Phytic acid is in the outer layer of all grains. Phytic acid can prevent the absorption of important vitamins and minerals in the intestinal tract. Soaking grains triggers a process in which phytic acid is either removed or signficantly reduced making the grain much more healthy and nutritious.
Health Diseases: Soaking grains can potentially lessen allergic reactions and sensitivity to grains. Additionally, it is believed for instance that phytic acid contributes to tooth and bone decay.
